Spread the Love: More Catch Up

Okay, so the last week was crazy-busy with my revising for Charming Academy. Which means that my Spread the L-O-V-E project totally didn't get done when I wanted. But, I did do something. I don't have pictures to share this time. (Mostly because CD's are pretty boring to look at) But I'll tell you about it anyway.

Project: Mission CD
Details: The oldest of my brothers is currently in Iceland serving a two-year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. For Christmas (yeah, I'm WAY late), I started making him a CD with our family's favorite hymns and recordings of our testimonies. It has been a wonderful, faith-building experience. Now, a month late, I've finally finished the CD's (I've made copies for my grandparents, family and myself) and will be sending them out in the mail tomorrow. Enjoy this little preview. :) The pictures in the movie are ones that either James took out in the mission or were taken shortly before he left.

First Two Spread the L-O-V-E Projects

So, I'm a slacker! This week I did two projects to make up for not doing any projects last week when I first decided to join up with this.

First project: Mutual Theme Plaque
Details: This project was done for my younger brother who is in the Young Men's Organization in the LDS church. I have loved the recent addition of yearly mutual themes and when I learned this year's I immediately was bombarded with inspiration for a plaque to put in my room. My brother liked it enough that I told him that I would make one for him. It's great for that daily remind to be the person God wants you to be.

Hard to see, but I used Close To My Heart's Liquid Glass to give the glow-in-the-dark star a little more depth.

Second Project: Thinking of You card
Details: A sister I visit teach is going to be super-busy in the next few months and won't have time for a formal visit. Since I certainly don't want her to feel forgotten and know that everyone loves to get mail, I put together this little card to let her know that my companion and I are still thinking about her.
Outside.

Normally I would be smart enough to take pictures before writing the message.
So please forgive my awkward editing skills. :)

So, there we have it. Feel free to ask me questions, but I go pretty easy on a lot of these things. :)

My First Blog Post! :)

So, I started this blog and then promptly forgot all about it. Haha! Typical me.

Well, just as an intro to what the purpose is behind this whole thing, I'm trying to market my book, Charming Academy, as well as share some of the various crafts and things that I do. The past week and a half has been pretty hectic, hence forgetting about the blog, and so here's what's going on with everything:

1) My baby boy turned one the other day! So exciting! :)

2) Amazon.com has their annual Amazon Breakthrough Novel Award contest and I have been desperately trying to get Charming Academy revised and ready for entry in that. The entry date, you ask? January 23rd. That's right, tomorrow.

3) Getting back in the habit of writing real letters to people. I love writing and decided to take up the Spread the Love challenge shared by my good friend, Mynnette. So now I'm busily card and craft making to share with that.

So, that's the story of my life, major milestones, crazy deadlines and more commitments than I actually have time for. :) But it will be a fun adventure and I look forward to sharing my progress with you.
